The African Farmers’ Association of South Africa Provincial Annual General Meetings (AGMs) have officially commenced across the country as part of the build-up towards the AFASA National Annual General Meeting set to take place in October 2026.

The provincial AGMs are bringing together farmers, provincial leadership, industry stakeholders, and members to reflect on organisational progress, discuss key agricultural challenges, and strengthen farmer representation across all provinces. The meetings also provide a platform to engage on critical issues affecting the sector, including land reform, food security, market access, climate resilience, livestock development, and support for emerging farmers.

These engagements are expected to shape the organisation’s strategic direction ahead of the national gathering, while ensuring that provincial resolutions and farmer concerns are consolidated and elevated to the national stage.

AFASA views the AGM process as an important democratic and organisational exercise that promotes accountability, unity, and active participation among members, while reinforcing the organisation’s commitment to advancing the interests of black farmers and inclusive agricultural development in South Africa.
