The African Farmers’ Association of South Africa (AFASA) mourns the passing of Mr Raato Mogajane, a very successful farmer, a stalwart of our movement, a founding member of AFASA, and a valued member of our Board.
Mr Mogajane embodied the spirit of AFASA’s mission through his kind yet firm leadership and his unwavering commitment to the upliftment of black farmers. His tireless efforts advanced the meaningful participation of African farmers in building a transformed and inclusive agricultural sector.
His passing is a profound loss to AFASA and the broader farming community. We extend our deepest condolences to his family, loved ones, and colleagues. As we honour his legacy, we remain committed to carrying forward the vision he championed — a future where African farmers thrive and contribute meaningfully to South Africa’s agricultural transformation.
Mr Mogajane will be buried on Saturday, the 28 February 2026, at Dinokana in the North West.
