The AFASA Leadership and Strategic Partnership Conference took place at the Agriculture Research Council’s Roodeplaat Campus on Wednesday, 26 November, South Africa, under the theme “Working Together to Achieve Agricultural Prosperity.” It brought together farmers, policymakers, and industry leaders to strengthen collaboration and drive inclusive growth in agriculture. Declaration on the shared commitment to advancing inclusive growth was signed by key partners which uncle; Landbank, Agricultural Research Council (ARC), National Agricultural Marketing Council (NAMC), AgriSeta, RMIS, Grains, AGDA and many others.

Major Highlights

Government Strategy on FMD: Minister Steenhuisen announced new measures to strengthen disease control and secure the future of South Africa’s red meat industry.

Focus on Smallholder & Emerging Farmers: The conference emphasized their growing role in shaping the future of agriculture, highlighting their entrepreneurial drive and importance to rural economies.

Partnerships for Growth: Collaboration across the agricultural value chain was stressed as essential for transformation and prosperity.
