AFASA Youth proudly participated in the World Food Forum (WFF) South Africa Youth Chapter Launch, held on 4–5 November 2025 at the Garden Court Hotel, OR Tambo. This milestone event marked the establishment of a national youth platform to champion innovation and youth-led transformation across South Africa’s agrifood systems.
AFASA Youth Leaders Elected to National WFF SA Youth Chapter
Youth Chapter:
We celebrate the election of five dynamic AFASA Youth members to key leadership roles within the WFF SA.

These young leaders bring expertise in innovation, mobilisation, and youth engagement, and will play a pivotal role in shaping inclusive, future-forward agricultural programs.
Strengthening Strategic Youth Collaboration
The launch fostered deeper collaboration between AFASA Youth, YARD (Youth in Agriculture and Rural Development), FAO, DALRRD, and NYDA. This partnership is geared toward building coordinated youth development and support across agricultural value chains.
What’s Next for AFASA Youth
AFASA Youth will actively contribute to:
- Leading youth-centred agricultural programs
- Participating in policy dialogues and innovation initiatives
- Supporting mentorship and development of future agripreneurs
This engagement aligns with AFASA’s broader mission to empower emerging farmers and drive inclusive transformation in South Africa’s agricultural sector.
