The matter was heard at the Hoopstad Magistrate Court on the same day. AFASA stood firm in its belief that land should be shared among those who work it, in line with the principles of the Freedom Charter. AFASA Free State Commodities Chair of Chairs, Mrs Realeboha Mokhethi-Lekitlane, was LIVE on DStv Channel 404 (SABC News) on June 18th 2025 at 21:30.

She highlighted that many Black commercial farmers in the province still lack access to land, unlike their white counterparts. A memorandum of grievances was handed over to the Department of Water and Sanitation following a land dispute involving two farmers. AFASA’s Realeboha Mokhethi stressed that without equitable land access, marginalized communities remain confined to overgrazed commonages, limiting their potential to contribute meaningfully to the agricultural economy.
